Why?

There is no arguing that men sit in the position of privilege and power in many sectors of the world. They occupy governments, police forces, the military, and they run the biggest and wealthiest companies. We cannot question that the lives of men are benefited from their gender alone, but it's also their gender that is like a virus to society. Men account for the most prisoners in the world, have the highest suicide rates, and exceed any other gender in violence. All of these issues, while there are plenty more, center on one thing alone. Being a man. Masculinity is killing our loved ones. Masculinity is alienating us from ourselves. Masculinity is a force that is sewn into every fabric of our taught self. I am not writing to fix masculinity in the world, but in myself. I am keeping this blog to write how I experience sexism and toxic masculinity in my day to day interactions. I hope to enlighten others with an idea of what they can and cannot see, and instill in men that we are not going to repeat our fathers and grandfathers mistakes. That we can and will be better.

All of this is my opinion alone. I will be wrong a lot of the time and will learn from my mistakes. Don’t take all of this as the written truth, no one is infallible.
